ABOUT DAVID FORD
World Champion, 5x Olympian, Canadian Male Athlete of the Year
Edmonton born David Ford has been a member of the Canadian National Whitewater Slalom Kayak Team since 1984 and is a World Champion and five time Olympian. The world of professional athletics isn’t an easy one. It’s a full-time commitment requiring personal sacrifice and a dedication to preparation. Told at an early age that there would never be a World Champion from Canada, this planted the seed for his incredible work ethic, attention to detail, and his relentless pursuit of the ultimate goal: to compete at the very top level of professional sport.
HIGHLIGHTS
2003 CANADIAN MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
A silver medal at the World Championships and the Overall World Cup Title in the same season earned David the honour of being named Canada's Male Athlete of the Year.

He competed in 5 consecutive Games and qualified an Olympic spot for Canada for the London 2012 Games before being sidelined with a season ending injury.
